Portal Sign-In & Security
The Customer Portal identifies you by your 12-digit AWS Account ID rather than a username. This page covers creating an account, signing in, recovering a password, and adding multi-factor authentication.
Your AWS Account ID is your login
The portal at /portal/ uses your AWS Account ID (the 12-digit number for your AWS account) as the login key. This ties portal access to the account that holds your licences and, for AWS Marketplace customers, your subscription.
Create a portal account
- Open the portal and choose Create portal account.
- Enter your AWS Account ID. The account must already hold at least one WebStream licence — registration is refused otherwise. (AWS Marketplace buyers arriving through the link flow below are the exception; they register as part of provisioning.)
- Provide a contact email for account correspondence.
- Set a strong password. Passwords require at least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a digit, and a special character.
If you have subscribed through AWS Marketplace but have not provisioned a licence, start from the Marketplace link flow below rather than the standard registration form. If you have no licence at all, request one from the admin panel first — see Licence Activation.
- Enter your AWS Account ID and password.
- If multi-factor authentication is enabled, you are taken to the verification step to enter your code.
- On success you land on My Entitlements.
Reset a forgotten password
- On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password?
- Enter your AWS Account ID to receive a reset link by email.
- Open the link and set a new password that meets the strength rules above.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
MFA adds a second factor at sign-in. Set it up under Settings, where you can choose the method that suits you:
- Authenticator app (TOTP) — scan a QR code with an app such as Google Authenticator or 1Password and enter the rotating 6-digit code.
- Email verification code — a code is sent to your contact email at each sign-in.
Once enabled, every sign-in prompts for the code after your password. To turn MFA off, use Disable MFA in Settings and confirm with a current code.
Arriving from AWS Marketplace
If you subscribe to WebStream through AWS Marketplace, AWS redirects you to a link page that validates a signed handshake and connects your subscription to a portal account. From there you either sign in (if you already have an account) or register, then continue to provisioning. The full path is covered in License Lifecycle.
