Built-in Authentication

In built-in mode, WebStream stores user accounts and passwords directly. It is the simplest option and the right choice for a proof of concept or a small, self-contained deployment.

When to use it

Managing built-in accounts

Create and manage accounts in the Users section, and grant access through Groups. The bootstrapped admin account uses built-in authentication; change its password immediately as described in First Login.

Warning

With built-in authentication, password strength and lifecycle are your responsibility. For production with more than a handful of users, prefer OIDC or LDAP so you inherit your provider's security policies and multi-factor authentication.
