Disable a User
Disabling an account revokes the ability to sign in while keeping the account and its audit history intact. This is the right action when offboarding someone or responding to a security concern.
Steps
- Open Users and select the account.
- Set the account to disabled.
- Save. The user can no longer authenticate; existing sessions can be ended from Operations.
Disable versus delete
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Disable | Blocks sign-in; retains the account and its history. Reversible. |
| Delete | Removes the account. Prefer disabling when audit continuity matters. |
Warning
Disabling prevents new sign-ins but does not automatically terminate an active session. To cut access immediately, also end the user's live sessions from Operations.
