Disable a User

Disabling an account revokes the ability to sign in while keeping the account and its audit history intact. This is the right action when offboarding someone or responding to a security concern.

Steps

  1. Open Users and select the account.
  2. Set the account to disabled.
  3. Save. The user can no longer authenticate; existing sessions can be ended from Operations.

Disable versus delete

ActionEffect
DisableBlocks sign-in; retains the account and its history. Reversible.
DeleteRemoves the account. Prefer disabling when audit continuity matters.
Warning

Disabling prevents new sign-ins but does not automatically terminate an active session. To cut access immediately, also end the user's live sessions from Operations.
